Today marks one year since the election of Pope Leo XIV as pope. On this day, Cardinal Robert Prevost, originally from Chicago, who became an Augustinian Friar and priest, a missionary in South America, later Bishop, and then Cardinal by Pope Francis, was choosen by the college of Cardinals as the next pope following the passing of Pope Francis.

My plans are to read Peace Be WIth You, which is a book featuring several homilies and speeches of Pope Leo, starting today. I have been waiting for this day to read it. “Peace Be With You” are the words which Pope Leo greated the world with, on this day, before his first Urbi et Orbi blessing, on the Logia of St. Peter.

The photos here are photos I have taken. From the Habemus Papaum announcement and the greeting of the new pontiff, and the portrait of Pope Leo featured the weekend after at my Diocesan Cathedral.

V.ย Oremus pro Pontifice nostro Leone.
V.ย Fiat manus tua super virum dexterรฆ tuรฆ.
R.ย Et super filium tuum quia confirmasti tibi.
Oremus.

From the first mass with the Cardinals, the day after the election of the Pontiff.
